Citroen C1 power steering issues

An elderly friend has owned his C1 from new. The power steering began to intermittently stop working 6 months ago. His local [small country garage] could not diagnose the problem but fitted an internal switch underneath the dash that he was told he should switch on and off repeatedly after the PS failed with the engine off. This seems to correct the problem for another day or so.

The PS does not stop working when the car is in motion just occasionally when stopped with the engine ticking over.

A new PS pump is quoted at £2K which is not far off the cars value.

£2k is crazy money for an EPAS for a C1. See what www.power-steering.co.uk/ can do for you.
