Choosing petrol or diesel for fuel economy
I own a 2004 Renault Scenic Expression DCi 86 and i'm looking to replace with 2011 Scenic with similar performance. My annual mileage is now reduced from 17,000 in 2004 to around 12,000 in 2011. 80% of my journeys are motorway and trunk roads. Economically, which would be best choice, petrol or diesel engine version?

The best current engine in the Scenic is the advanced new, fast warm 1.6DCI 130. More expensive, but better than buying another 1.5DCI which is now hampered by a DPF.
