Can you still get insurance that covers a car to be driven by anyone?

I am 92 and I seem to remember that about 70 years ago my father used to insure his car comprehensibly to be driven by 'any driver' When did that option stop?

A limited number of insurers may offer this kind of policy, but typically this is only required by business users such as car hire companies. For an individual this kind of policy may be prohibitively expensive, as it would need to cover drivers with the highest possible risk.
