Pointed complaint

I 'speak' as a 46year experienced driver (66 years old), never caused an accident, never committed a crime, paid all taxes on time, but nevertheless I have managed 3 points due to a hidden camera. I wonder if I may respectfully suggest at this time you could have a go at Highway Authorities cutting back vegetation at junctions and road signs, and also renewing white lines on roundabouts and junctions. Neither measure should stretch any budgets but contribute greatly to road safety. Thank you for so much common sense in your columns.

I empathise. My 85-year-old mum just got done for 35 in a 30 where 50 would be a more appropriate limit. But if vegetation obscures a speed limit sign, all you have to do is take photographs and that automatically gets you off. If you can’t see what speed you are supposed to be doing then how can you comply? FAQ at hjuk.
