Skimmed alive

I have owned a CRV for a year and from new have had a judder when applying the rear brakes. Honda has said that it will solve the problem by skimming the discs. I am reluctant to accept this as I feel it compromises the life of the discs. Honda is adamant that it will not supply new. I would be grateful for your opinion.

Have them skimmed. It's to remove the surface rust on your discs that has started to eat into the discs themselves. Rust is what kills rear discs. Not wear.
