Top 10: Classic cars to see at the NEC restoration show

This year’s NEC Restoration and Classic Car Show returns to Birmingham on 28-29 March. Now double in size of the inaugural outing, everything is bigger! The number of clubs, the number of stalls in the Autojumble, and the number of cars entered into the Pride of Ownership display. These cars have all been lovingly restored in garages up and down the country, and are now ready to be showcased, inspiring some folk to get their project finished and making other green with envy! Luke Greenwood’s 1968 Ford Mustang

'Only 133 Mustang "Rainbow of Colours" specials were made, and mine is one of just two survivors,' says Luke Greenwood. Rainbow of Colour Mustangs were part of a western US promotion, with thirteen special colours available for the 1968 model year as part of the promotion. 'Mine was Dandelion Yellow under the maroon paint I bought it with. I wasn’t aware of the history when I got it – it’s just luck I suppose!' The original engine was rebuilt as part of the bare shell restoration, and a new interior and new dashboard have been fitted. 'It took me 20 months, but when I finished, it looked as beautiful as new. If anything it’s better than the day it left the factory.'
